    Our Children

    School Council

Our school council is a vital student-led group that plays a crucial role in representing the interests and concerns of the children in our school. Each year group elects a school council representative through a democratic process, where fellow students vote for their preferred candidate. These elected representatives act as the voice of their peers, conveying their ideas, suggestions, and concerns to the school staff team and, ultimately, to the school's governing body. The school council works collaboratively to address various issues, improve the school environment, and ensure that students' perspectives are considered in decision-making processes, making the educational experience more inclusive and engaging for everyone involved.

The School council work with Miss Longvill and host regular meetings. They also report to our Chair of Governors and share their findings at Local Academy Board meetings.

Some projects they have worked on in the past include:

    • Improving the school playground
    • Improving the outside toilets
    • Promoting the school environment
    • Litter picking
    • School dinners

Our school council are elected towards the end of the Autumn term.

    Faith Team

Each year, we provide the children with an opportunity to join our school Faith Team. Our Faith Team serve as our spiritual leaders within the school community. Collaborating closely with the Religious Education lead, Miss Brown, they play a pivotal role in nurturing and fostering our school's faith-based Christian ethos. As well as overseeing our 'Prayer and Reflection Space,' they lead Devotions (assemblies) and guide the school in prayer, helping to create a spiritually enriching environment that encourages reflection and personal growth in our students. Their dedication and leadership contribute significantly to the spiritual and moral development of our school, reinforcing our commitment to our Christian faith and values-based education.

    House Captains

Every child and member of staff is in one of our four house teams. Each week we collect Dojo Points for good behaviour, politeness, kindness, working hard, excelling in sport, drama or music; the list goes on! At the end of the week, we find out which team has the most points.

Our mascots Bruno the Bear, Cooper the Crocodile, Snappy the Shark and Tommy the Tiger love to help us celebrate at special events and celebrations. Each house has its own colour, music and chant!

Our House Captains were elected by the staff. They are ambassadors for the school and help keep things running smoothly. Each team has one House Captain from Year 2 and one from Year 6.
